This morning, on the anniversary of the historic and victorious uprising of the people of Qom on January 19, 1977, in a meeting with thousands of faithful and enthusiastic people of this city, Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, cited the miscalculation of the corrupt Pahlavi regime and its main supporter, the United States, as the basis for their defeat against the Iranian nation, and emphasized: Today, too, the Iranian nation, which is much stronger than that day in terms of software and spirituality and hardware equipment, thanks to the Islamic Republic system, will defeat the arrogant and miscalculated America, and the powerful Islamic system that came to power with the blood of several hundred thousand honorable martyrs will not back down in the face of thoughtless and agitators who engage in destruction.

Referring to some destructive incidents in the country, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: There are people whose job is destruction, just as last night in Tehran and some other places, a handful of vandals came and destroyed buildings belonging to their own country in order to please the President of the United States.

Ayatollah Khamenei added: He is also happy, but if he can go and run his own country, which is involved in various incidents, he got his hands dirty with the blood of more than a thousand Iranians in the 12-day war and he himself admitted that I ordered the attack and commanded in this war. Then this same person says that I am a supporter of the Iranian people, and careless and thoughtless people believe it and set fire to garbage cans and do these things according to his wishes.

Emphasizing that the Islamic Republic came to power with the blood of several hundred thousand honorable people and will not back down in the face of saboteurs, he said: The Islamic Republic does not tolerate foreign mercenaries and the Iranian nation rejects foreign mercenaries, whoever they may be.

Regarding the US President, the Leader of the Revolution said: “That father who speaks and judges the whole world with arrogance and pride should know that usually the tyrants and arrogant people of the world such as Nimrod, Pharaoh, Reza Khan and Mohammad Reza Pahlavi were overthrown when they were at the height of their pride, and he too will be overthrown.”

At the beginning of his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei called the uprising of the people of Qom on 19th of December an inseparable page from the thick book of the glorious history of Iran and said: “That important and decisive event transformed the dense teachings of the Islamic movement, which had been accumulated in the minds and souls of the people thanks to the statements of the wise Imam and the efforts of thinkers since the beginning of the Islamic movement, i.e. from 15th of Khordad 42, into a social movement and, like a bolt from the blue, ignited the nation’s anger and hatred for the dictatorial and American Pahlavi regime and led the corrupt regime to its downfall and destruction by forming successive uprisings.”

He considered the oppressive Pahlavi regime to be the worst regime of the contemporary era and added: When that corrupt and weak regime was destroyed, as the Imam had promised, a popular government came to power and instead of a regime dependent on “America, Zionism and other thugs of the political world,” an independent government was established in dear Iran.

The Leader of the Revolution considered the policies and miscalculations of the Pahlavi regime and America to be the factors that led to the devastating incident of the Qom uprising and added: Ten days before the uprising of the noble and revolutionary people of Qom, the US President in Tehran called Iran the Pahlavi era an island of stability and praised the dependent regime and showed that he did not know the Iranian nation.

In explaining the historical facts and truths, he emphasized, referring to the continuation of America’s profound miscalculations towards the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic system: These same mistakes led America to defeat that day and will bring it nothing but defeat today.
Explaining the “lessons and reasons for the victory of the Qom uprising and the Iranian nation in overthrowing the Pahlavi regime,” the Leader of the Revolution added: “That day, the Iranian nation did not have hardware weapons such as cannons and tanks, but it was equipped with soft weapons – which are decisive in all fields.”

He considered faith in Islam, religious zeal, religious zeal, a sense of responsibility and duty, and love for Iran to be among the software elements of the Iranian nation in confronting the Pahlavi puppet regime, adding: “The nation saw that the Americans and their mercenaries and those affiliated with the Zionists were ruling their country, and these realities made them angry, furious, and disgusted.”

He considered those who are upset about the Iranian nation’s plan to confront and confront the United States as ignorant and said: They are oblivious to the fact that the United States and its affiliates have started and continue to fight the nation; because the Islamic Republic, with the support of the nation, has taken Iran’s vast wealth and resources from their clutches, and this issue has made America so upset and disgusted with the Iranian nation.

The Leader of the Revolution cited the Latin American issues as an example of America’s attempt to seize the resources of nations and said: They are besieging a country and shamelessly saying they did this for oil.
